Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the Defense Capability Exchange (the "Exchange") at match.thedefensepost.com. The Exchange is run by The Defense Post ("we", "us"). By signing in, claiming or registering a company, or buying a plan, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the company you represent.
1. What the Exchange does
The Exchange matches defence companies that offer capabilities with companies and government buyers that need them. Profiles are not public. A company sees how many matches it has, and paid plans see the matches in detail and can ask us for introductions. We review every introduction request and pass it on only when both sides are a reasonable fit.
We do not guarantee any number of matches, introductions, replies, meetings or contracts.
2. Profiles built from public information
Many profiles were created by us from public sources such as company websites, press releases and contract announcements. Each one links to its source. If you represent a company, you can claim its profile with a work email on the company's domain, then correct or complete it. If you want a profile changed or removed, email us at match@thedefensepost.com.
3. Your account and your profile
- You must be authorised to act for the company you claim or register.
- Information you add must be accurate and must not include classified, export-controlled or otherwise restricted information.
- We may review, edit, hide or remove profiles that are inaccurate, misleading or against these terms.
- Keep access to your work email secure, because sign-in links are sent there.
4. Introductions
An introduction is a request you send through the Exchange to meet a matched company. Each paid plan includes a number of introductions per calendar month, and unused monthly introductions do not carry over. Extra introductions bought separately do not expire while your paid plan is active. An introduction counts as used when you send the request.
What you agree with a company you meet through the Exchange is between you and that company. We are not a party to it and we take no commission on contracts.
5. Plans and payment
- Pro and Growth plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices are shown on the Plan page and at checkout, and taxes are added where they apply.
- Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from Invoices and payment method on the Plan page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and then returns to Free.
- You can switch between plans and billing periods in the same place. Stripe works out any charge or credit for the change.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period.
6. Refunds
Payments are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund or where we cannot provide the service you paid for. If something has gone wrong, email match@thedefensepost.com within 14 days of the charge and we will look at it fairly.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the Exchange to scrape or copy profiles, to contact companies outside the introduction process using information you found only here, to send spam, or to arrange anything unlawful, including breaches of export control or sanctions law. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
8. Liability
The Exchange is provided as it is. Profiles may contain errors, and you should check any company before you work with it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the Exchange at any time and ask us to remove your profile. We may end or suspend access if you break these terms. Sections 4, 6, 7 and 8 continue to apply after your access ends.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia have jurisdiction over any dispute.
